Thanksgiving Aftermath: A
Perfect Leftover Sandwich
Nov 29, 2013

Hopefully everyone had a great day of turkey and family. We here at ONK had a wonderful Thanksgiving that went off without a hitch (besides Green Bay’s loss to the Lions). After cooking for three days straight I’m just done. DONE. Not to mention, I can’t find anything in my kitchen after my dad and brother insisted on doing the dishes (not complaining at all, I just don’t want to spend 45 minutes searching for my rice pan). I will not be cooking much for a couple days. Instead I will be watching college football and eating leftovers. So I thought I would talk about the perfect way to use leftovers on game day, a sandwich.

Here’s What You Need:

  • 1 roll from last night’s dinner (use bread if you don’t have rolls left)
  • 3-4 thin slices of turkey
  • greens from last night’s salad
  • cranberry sauce
  • mustard, mayo, and condiments to taste

Make a sandwich. Eat a sandwich. Commence turkey coma.

If you don’t have bread or want to use some of your leftover mash, mix an egg with 2 cups leftover mash. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium high heat. Make mashed potatoes and egg into patty. Fry until crispy golden brown. Flip and fry the other side to the same golden brown. Use those in place of bread or just to make a more awesome sandwich.

Happy leftover day!
